“Holidays”

Uh Oh.
Since that morning (3 am) I got my results and UAI online – ‘ve been trying to pack for the move down to Melbourne, but ah! Can’t be bothered to do it all at the moment. I did a bit though, maybe even 50%, so it’s OK.
I’ve never stopped thinking about all the things I gotta do when I get down there from what I’m going to do bout mobile service, transport (I don’t have a license yet.. T-T) to renting out a place to stay. Been planning out and I (haha that is, we: Mum, Dad and I) think things are gonna work out – since I’m doing a science course and getting HECS HELP, we’re not as tight as I thought we might have mid HSC. Anyway things’ll work out .. right? So yeah can’t wait to be at Melbourne.
Been working out in the gym frequently, trying to, quote, “toughen up”. Otherwise, I’m finding more and more to do in terms of packing up my room and stuff. Alas! I still can’t lift a finger in that front. Also been learning a whole lot of things I didn’t have time for during school — inclusive of cooking and speaking chinese (can understand well, but talks with badly tuned accent).
Had lots of time to sit and think about my own self and how I act, trying to revise those thing remembering that even though I was born in Australia it’s been many years since I’ve ever been to Australia (9 years now, wow) and so I got new people to meet and fit in with. Knowati’msayin’? Gotta watch my personality’s back.
“Late”
So I applied for university through VTAC and it was an easy process. I applied to do the University of Melbourne Bachelor of Science course, and filled in the rest of the preferences from with a bunch of filler subjects I didn’t really want to do but put in for the heck of it. It’s not that I’m not choosing other backup subjects I might like to do in the (unlikely) event that I might not get into my B.S. degree (pun not intended) – but there really isn’t anything else I can see myself studying nor any other fields that I can see myself working in.
Anyway, that was ages ago from today, and since then I’ve already gotten my confirmation in the mail, blah, blah, blah. And since the time of my VTAC application I’d convinced myself (or so I thought) that Melbourne was the way to go – besides, everyone seems to be saying Sydney’s the place to visit and Melbourne’s the place to live, etc.. the debate goes on.

So today – yeah – I was thinking about Sydney.
And, after those weeks of convincing myself that Melbourne was the place to go – through research on google, etc… (You see, I’m an Australian citizen finishing school in Malaysia — I’ve never been to Melbourne) I had finally convinced myself to think otherwise. I don’t know, why?
And so I make my way to the UAC website to begin applying for the University of Sydney, and the first thing on the screen is how I would have to pay a whopping A$130 to apply! The excuse: “late fees”. I mean, my application of the University of Sydney was merely out of sympathy for the place!
So much for applying to the University of Sydney, looks like I’m locked in for Melbourne. Besides, Melbourne’s the one with the synchrotron.
